Learn to sew so that you can make things you want to wear. Classes are anytime, and take about 3-4 hours, depending on how long it takes everyone to finish a garment. Call or email susan at idealgarment.com to schedule a class, or to put yourself on the mailing list, in case we ever actually make up a schedule, or schedule a workshop. We would love to let you know if something is going on. The cost of one class is $80 and includes all the materials to make one garment, or in the case of panty workshops maybe two. The garment you make will serve as a pattern for you to make future garments. You will leave the class with your new garment completely finished and ready to wear. Actually, you will probably leave class wearing your garment. Everyone does. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and beverages of their choice. Making clothing is fun to begin with, and the adventure is generally improved by a bottle of wine or pot of good coffee. Individual lessons are available, too, or create your own group with friends so you don't have to meet anyone new. |

Instructions for making specific garments come in the form of lengthy directions for how to cut out and stitch together pants, a skirt, or whatever. The instructions do not assume you know anything other than how to use your machine to stitch a straight line on fabric. Can you do that? No? Then you better learn. The best thing to do is to find someone female over the age of 45 and ask them to teach you how to use a sewing machine. It isn't very difficult. Children do it, after all, all over the world. Each set of instructions costs $10. If you got several of them they would make a small book. Hey! That's an idea. Maybe we could put it together and make a book, and just sell you the whole thing at once. We'll get right on that. |
